Baby Wilson: 29 Weeks

How far along? 29 weeks
Baby’s size/development this week: weighs 2 1/2 pounds and measures 15 inches long; about the size of a butternut squash
Maternity clothes: wearing them? Yes. Although, my new favorite shirt just arrived in the mail. It isn’t maternity but I wore it around anyways. It is my Oiselle Lauren Fleshman is my Homeboy shirt. A-duh it is my new favorite.
Miss anything? Sleeping on my back without waking up in a pool of sweat. But since I’m still sleeping through the night, I guess I can’t really complain.
Food cravings? Nothing really.
Anything making you queasy or sick? Felt sick again this week after breakfast. I don’t know if it is because of the milk or the cereal but either way that is not really a great start to my day.
Sleep: Getting comfortable before bed is becoming more difficult. However, I’m still sleeping through the night as I previously mentioned. I’m not sure how much longer this will last so I’m going to enjoy it!
Best moment of the week: Having more of my extended family get the chance to feel some big kicks. :)
Nursery: I cleaned up some of the clutter, but now it is in the living room. When is this “nesting” thing going to set in? Lol.
Wedding rings on or off? on
Movement? Lots of squirming, moving around, and kicking. If I can feel it start and look down at my belly, you can see my belly moving. I like to visualize what the baby is doing in there. I love seeing all these Instagram videos that my pals have posted of their babies doing baby things. Cooing, air punching, kicking their legs… I imagine that is what Baby is doing inside the womb.
Weird pregnancy thing of the week: Oh the back pain is becoming quite brutal. I can’t sit for more than 1 ½ hours without the pain setting in. The evenings are just the worst. Earlier this week I had a spasm/fit of pain that hurt so bad I had tears in my eyes. I’m not really looking forward to this every day for the next 11 weeks. If anyone has any recommendations for relief, I’m all ears.
Daddy is feeling: the pressure to get things done in the nursery…
Mommy is feeling: that there is still so much left to do!
Workouts this week: Went for a nice walk with Anne when our meeting for ice cream was foiled with the shoppe being closed. :( Also, went for a canoe ride with the hubs when we were in Michigan over the weekend. I had fun but the hubs did not, picking up my extra slack on how poorly I was paddling. Lol.
Looking forward to: My baby showers! Invitations for one have been sent out and the invitations for the other have been ordered. :)

  3. With how hot our house is (our air conditioner is broken), I don't think the heat is helping. Lol. Maybe a heating pad would be different? I shall investigate. Thanks!

  5. I never had one while pregnant, but I have a few friends that said pre-natal massages were unbelievably awesome, may be worth a try!

    Looking good mama!

Suggestion for the back pain -- foam roll! I actually used a ball (this one:http://www.amazon.com/Pro-Tec-Athletics-Density-Massage-Diameter/dp/B00B2YAD46). I would put it against the wall (because it's ridiculously hard to get on the floor, lol) and massage my back. Of course I also recommend a good chiropractor and prenatal massage (particularly if the pain is due to the baby's position). Sorry about the pain - that sucks :(

  8. Haha, thanks! Thankfully we have a window unit in our bedroom that has allowed us to get by so far. :)

  9. Oh what a good idea! I didn't even think of that! I do have a foam roller that has been collecting dust. I'm not sure what is causing the pain because it is new. I go to the doctor next week so I'm going to mention it in my appointment. I have just started looking into prenatal massage (it is less expensive than I thought it would be) so I'm thinking that might be another good option! Thanks so much for the tips!

  10. I definitely second Michelle's suggestion of either a foam roller or using something like a tennis ball against the wall. I don't know what pre-natal back pain feels like, but I've had chronic back pain since I was a teenager, so I've tried just about every home remedy for it. If you have The Stick, you could have your husband roll that over your back too (I can't ever seem to get a good angle if I try to do it myself). I also find stretching pretty helpful, if you're able to do that.

I really enjoyed our walk and ice cream on Friday, even if it was just DQ :)

My favorite things for my back are a foam roller, hot shower or walking. Moving sometimes is the best!

  12. Hmm, good to know about the back pain issues. I've been looking to invest in a Stick so maybe now is the time! :)

I really enjoyed our walk too. Dairy Queen still totally hit the spot in the hot summer Michigan sun. Now, this just gives us an excuse to meet up again so we can try Paris. :)

  13. Thanks. I do find that if I get up and walk around I feel better, if only for a little while. I'm going to try out the foam roller tonight!

So I clicked to see the Lauren Fleishman shirt and ended up on the "Wee Birds" page of Oiselle... SO CUTE!!!!!!!

Glad to hear that things are going well!

  16. Good luck with the back pain! My friend is at 36 weeks and she has been struggling with it, too! Maybe heating pads??? That's what has worked for her! I love that you can see so much through the stomach. I just hit that phase last week and it's so surreal!

  17. Baby Wilson already has a Wee Bird onesie for his/her arrival. :) Thanks Lauren!

  18. Thanks! I will try heating pads and see if that helps. I did the foam roller yesterday and that helped out minimally. I am going to try and coax a back rub out of the husband at some point this weekend. :)

  19. I was going to comment on the back pain like everyone else! My coworker has it now (she is due Labor Day - heh) and I feel so bad for her. She spends a lot of the day standing, so she can make it through the day!

I bet you are going to have the cutest showers!

Ha ha ha! Your husband appreciated the extra canoeing work... right?! ;)

  20. Thanks! I will take post some photos from the baby showers when they take place. :) It makes it much more real!

Oh yeah, Chris LOVED the extra canoeing work! ;)
