Baby Wilson: 20 Weeks

How far along? 20 weeks
Baby’s size/development this week: weighs about 10 1/2 ounces and measures 6 1/2 inches long; about the size of a banana (I didn't have any bananas to hold up for comparisons sake. FWP.)
Maternity clothes: wearing them? Yes. I didn't make any maternity purchases this weekend. Gotta start saving money for the wee babe!
Miss anything? Coffee. I know I can have it, my stomach just doesn't like it. I've bought it a few times, end up having a few sips and throwing the rest away. My pregnant body just doesn't want its coffee. I really could use the pick-me-up some mornings. LAME!
Food cravings? Nothing all that strange. I have zero desire to eat vegetables, unless they are in fried form, so I've been trying to eat a lot of fruit. That way, I’m still getting nutrients without wanting to hurl.
Anything making you queasy or sick? The smell of any Starbucks. That strong coffee scent makes me cringe.
Sleep: In the past few months I've had a few zombie apocalypse dreams, and now apparently my mind has moved on to vampire dreams. Although, now that I've got the body pillow, I’m at least comfortably sleeping through the night. :)
Best moment of the week: Our 20 week ultrasound!
Nursery: Nothing yet, but hopefully this week we can get rolling now that we have a 2nd dresser in the master bedroom.
Wedding rings on or off? on
Movement? The flutters and mini kicks come and go throughout the day.
Weird pregnancy thing of the week: I’m still getting over that cold and my skin is seriously still so dry! I don’t know what is up with that! So weird!
Daddy is feeling: excited to start feeling kicks soon.
Mommy is feeling: good and excited to be enjoying the 2nd trimester! :) The worrying has dropped down significantly with each week as Baby continues to grow, my belly expands, and I continue to feel more and more movement.
Workouts this week: I did 1 run this week with plans to do a second that never materialized. My pace is slow and I’m keeping the distance low. But I’m out there having fun which is what counts!
Looking forward to: Dad being able to feel the kicks next!

  1. My skin was so dry when I was pregnant too. I must have used twelve bottles of lotion on my stomach, not to prevent stretch marks, but to cut down on the itchy dryness. You look adorable!

  3. Right now it is just my hands that are super dry. I'm thinking when the climate becomes more humid in the next month or so, this won't be as much of an issues... but you never know! Thanks so much!

  4. Haha, no weird cravings yet. I just want bacon with every meal. I never liked bacon all that much before, but now I've turned into the average American. MOAR BACONZ!

  10. There is mixed info out there on tea and pregnancy. You're not supposed to have some of the herbal stuff so I end up avoiding tea all together. I'm not a huge tea person anyways so it wasn't a big deal.

  12. Half way! Yay! And I forgot to ask you how the ultrasound went <-- bad friend!!!

I want to hear more about these dreams. Do they deserve a blog post of their own? LOL!

  13. You are not a bad friend at all! Perhaps I should start logging some of these crazy dreams. I'm just glad the zombie ones are over.

  15. Vampire dreams and weird food aversions! Now we're talking! This pregnancy is getting interesting! LOL.

  16. And the vampire dream was with Russell Edgington, not even with Eric Northman! Gross. I feel like a little kid with this whole vegetable thing too. Nothing green please, unless it is candy!

  18. That stinks that you can't stand coffee anymore :( I wonder if you'll like it again, either during your pregnancy or after? My mom apparently couldn't stand pork chops when she was pregnant with me, and still can't eat them decades later!

Bacon and fried veggies sound good :) My husband's been kind of hooked on fried zucchini from our pizza place (because pizza isn't enough), so it seems no vegetable is off limits from the deep fryer.

  19. My mom had a coffee aversion with all 3 of her pregnancies but it returned after each one. I hope I do the same because I love my coffee (usually)!

Oh fried zucchini is amazing! Almost as good as fried mushrooms (if you can somehow avoid burning your mouth on them). All this talk of fried vegetables makes me want to go and get some. :)

  20. No Eric? That is disappointing.

Yay Team Wilson Nugget! The bump is so cute! I also want to know if you'll be finding out about the sex of little nugget?

I also recently learned about acid-less coffee. Is your aversion due to the scent, or that you're not wanting the acid-feel in the stomach?
