Baby Wilson: 19 Weeks

How far along? 19 weeks
Baby’s size/development this week: weighs approx 8 1/2 ounces and measures 6 inches long; about the size of a mango
Maternity clothes: wearing them? Yes. I picked up a few tops on clearance this week that can work during and after pregnancy. I’m currently looking for a dress to wear to a client meeting at the end of May. I haven’t had much luck as most things I've found either aren't dressy enough or are way too expensive. I’m glad I started looking now so I have some time to decide.
Miss anything? I went to a baseball game over the weekend and I really missed having a hot dog.  I still got a brat, but it just wasn't the same. Those grilled onions they have to put on top are just the absolute best.
Food cravings? I had part of a Jimmy John’s sub when I was volunteering at a race on Sunday. Now, I have a taste for the full deal. I’ll probably have to go at some point this week. Yummm.
Anything making you queasy or sick? Smoking is still the worst.
Sleep: Because of my cold, I haven't been sleeping very well. The congestion isn't as bad but now I have a cough. On the plus side, I finally bought a body pillow this weekend! I used it last night and slept well (with the exception of my cough waking me up in the middle of the night…) Hopefully this body pillow is the new best thing ever!
Best moment of the week: I felt the baby kick! I was driving home from the grocery store and I felt Baby kick when I was close to home. Hubs was working on the yard when I pulled in the driveway and I had to run and tell him!
Nursery: Did a few small projects but nothing major.
Wedding rings on or off? on
Movement? The flutters have become more frequent, and as I was typing this, I got to feel another kick!
Weird pregnancy thing of the week: I have another cold! It is really frustrating as I feel like I just got over my last one (I had my last cold about 6-7 weeks ago). Thankfully it hasn't been too bad to impair my sleeping too much. I had 1 bad sleepless night and the rest of the nights have been better.
Daddy is feeling: excited to be a dad.
Mommy is feeling: sick, but overall I’m feeling good.
Workouts this week: I did a 1 mile treadmill run and a 1 mile elliptical workout. Then, I got sick and I’m winded just walking so cardio has been on a break.
Looking forward to: Our 20 week ultrasound next Monday!!

  1. So exciting!!! Remember these days. My wife has days where she misses being pregnant with our daughter. Thanks for the update!

    Now I want Jimmy Johns!

  2. My cousin found some really cute dresses at Target (probably online) when she was pregnant last year - have you checked them out? Loft has some cute maternity stuff now too, and they're having a 40% off sale right now too.

And how exciting that you felt a kick this week!

  3. Target's website is THE WORST and I end up getting frustrated after trying to navigate it for over a half hour without much luck.

I've had lots of luck with Loft pants but their shirts have been dreadful so I'm nervous to try their dresses. Thanks for the 40% off tip though! It is worth a look, for sure. :)

  8. It is on the "do not eat" list along with sushi and cold lunchmeat. But I know folks that have eaten hot dogs and cold lunchmeat and still gone on to have healthy and happy babies.

  13. Thanks! I bet the only thing I could have like that would have to be homemade. It sounds like too much effort. ;)

Yay for body pillows and baby kicks! Just curious if you've tried (or previously enjoyed) yoga for exercise?
